Creating Definition with Jawline Filler

By July 14, 2023No Comments

Jawline filler is one of many non-surgical procedures on the rise in recent years. It can have many beneficial aesthetic results as it defines, structures and volumises the jaw and chin area, creating a more sculpted and symmetrical face.

Dermal filler is injected into various areas of the jawline to enhance your features and sculpt your face to perfection.

What does the filler do?

Injecting filler into your jaw can provide many aesthetic benefits. These can range from:

  • Adding volume to your jawline, plumping it and making it look more full.
  • A more defined separation between the jawline and neck
  • A symmetrical jawline, resulting in an overall balanced face
  • Minimise a double chin
  • Give the illusion of a slimmer jaw

How does it work?

There are different types of filler available, but the most common type used is hyaluronic acid (HA) filler. This substance is naturally found within your body and has many properties, such as keeping your skin hydrated. But, as we age, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, leading to sagging skin and wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid fillers include Juvederm and Restylane.

The procedure itself takes around 10–20 minutes, and you can go home soon after you receive your treatment. The injector will first apply a topical numbing anaesthetic cream and use a very thin needle to inject small amounts of filler underneath the skin. It isn’t a painful form of treatment, but you feel a slight pinch or sting.

What to expect before your treatment

Before any treatment/procedure, you should expect a consultation with your injector to discuss your treatment plan, what products they will use, any side effects, your medical history and any other relevant information. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions about the treatment.

Your injector will examine your face and may even mark your face to show you where they will inject the filler. They will also take pictures to show you the before and after results and may recommend other cosmetic procedures to help you achieve your desired look.

Possible risks/side effects

Jawline filler is mostly a safe procedure but like many procedures in general, it comes with a few risks and side effects that may occur. Any side effects are often temporary and will go away after a few days.

They can include:

  • Bruising and redness
  • Bleeding
  • Numbness
  • Scars
  • Allergic reaction to the filler

What to notify your injector about

It’s important to tell your injector if you’re taking medication or supplements, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), any blood thinners and supplements as they can increase your risk of bleeding and bruising.

You should notify them if you are a smoker or take anything that contains nicotine, as this slows down the healing process. People with skin conditions should also notify their injector, as dermal fillers may not be an option if you have an active disease.

Buy Jawline Fillers at Refine Pharma

At Refine, we recommend our bestsellers Juvederm and Restylane for jawline definition.

Juvederm has a combination of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid that means the gel is both cohesive and elastic. It makes it easier to create life and facial contours to a desire shape and retain it. The unique formula increases the formula as results last between 18–24 months with optimal treatments.

Restylane is less cohesive, meaning the consistency is thinner, making it easier to spread when injected. The overall results will last between 6–9 months or even 1 year depending on factors such as skin type, age and lifestyle.
