What types of Botox is best for you?

Botox

Botox is considered the most famous brand, and it was first produced by Allergan, in the 1990s. Botox is FDA approved to temporarily reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, forehead lines, and marionette lines. Results can last for around three to six months, but the results do not appear immediately. The full effect can take 1–2 weeks to appear.

Letybo

Letybo is a newer Botulinum Toxin Type A used to treat and reduce the appearance of moderate and severe vertical lines between the eyebrows in adults. It launched by Croma in March 2022 and is approved for use in the UK. Letybo is ideal for adults with deep to severe glabellar lines. Find out more about Letybo, here.

Dysport

Dysport is a Clostridium Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is indicated for treating excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis. Dysport is not licensed in the UK for aesthetic use. It can be used under the armpits, hands, and forehead, to treat hyperhidrosis, which does not respond to topical treatments, antiperspirants or antihidrotics. Dysport is a prescription-only medicine for adults only.

Azzalure

Azzalure is adapted from Botulinum Toxin Type A of Dysport, specifically for cosmetic purposes. It is an approved local muscle relaxant, specifically for aesthetic conditions.

It’s mainly used for treating skin depressions, and reducing the appearance of frown lines, crow’s feet, and glabellar lines. These wrinkles develop overtime as a result of repetitive facial movements, such as laughing, smiling, frowning, or eating.

Results will appear 2 to 4 days after treatment. Results will last for around 4 to 5 months, but follow-up treatments can be carried out every 6 to 9 months, to achieve consistent results.

The main difference with Azzalure compared to other anti-wrinkle injections, is that Azzalure is specifically adapted and approved for aesthetic purposes, rather than other health issues.

Bocouture

Bocouture is a Botulinum Neurotoxin Type A, which is indicated to improve the appearance of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles in adult patients under the age of 65. It can be used to treat glabellar lines, periorbital lines, and horizontal forehead lines.
